Download speed

Upload speed video calls، online classes، freelancing work، cloud backups اور content uploads کے لئے ضروری ہے۔ Ping کم ہو تو online gaming، live classes اور video meetings میں delay کم محسوس ہوتا ہے۔

How to choose an ISP using PakSpeed data

Use this page as a practical comparison tool, not just a winner list. A fast ISP in one city may perform differently in another city because local fiber routes, tower load, exchange quality, routing, and package limits all affect the final experience.

  • Check the average download speed for everyday browsing, streaming, and app downloads.
  • Check upload speed if you work from home, upload videos, teach online, or use cloud storage.
  • Check ping if you care about gaming, video calls, remote work, or live classes.
  • Compare the number of tests before trusting a ranking. More tests usually means a stronger signal.
  • Run your own PakSpeed test from your phone or laptop so the public dataset improves for your city.

Before you buy or switch providers

Do not rely on a national ranking alone. First check whether the provider is available at your exact address, then compare package price, installation charges, contract terms, router quality, upload speed, latency, and after-sales support. A provider that ranks high nationally may still be weak in one neighborhood if local infrastructure is overloaded or poorly maintained.

For fiber and fixed broadband, ask neighbors in the same street or building and test during evening hours when home usage is highest. For mobile internet, test indoors, outdoors, and in the rooms where you normally work or study. Signal bars, phone model, tower distance, and building materials can change 4G and 5G results quickly.

Best for families

Look for stable download speed, enough bandwidth for multiple phones and TVs, and a router that can cover your home. Peak-hour consistency matters more than one impressive maximum speed.

Best for work and study

Prioritize upload speed, low ping, and fewer evening drops. Video meetings, online classes, file uploads, and cloud tools can fail even when download speed looks acceptable.

If your chosen ISP performs poorly after installation, keep PakSpeed results from different times of day and compare them with your subscribed package. Those repeated tests can help you talk to support or prepare a more accurate complaint.

Privacy and research note

PakSpeed is built as public-interest internet measurement infrastructure for Pakistan. Individual test results help create city and ISP-level trends, but the platform is designed around privacy: PakSpeed does not store IP addresses in its speed test database.
