Welcome to PakSpeed (the "Service"), operated by WANG and Urdu AI. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it when you use our internet speed testing tools.
PakSpeed is built as both a public speed test and a community-owned connectivity research platform. That means we collect the minimum practical data needed to measure internet quality, explain broad trends, and improve public understanding of connectivity in Pakistan.
Speed Test Data: When you initiate a speed test, we collect network performance metrics (download speed, upload speed, ping, jitter), ISP name, approximate city, device type, and browser performance signals needed to run the test.
IP Address Handling: Your IP address may be processed temporarily to determine your Internet Service Provider (ISP), ASN, country, and approximate city. PakSpeed does not store raw IP addresses in its speed test database. For anti-abuse limits, PakSpeed stores a short keyed one-way code that cannot be used as a raw IP address and is used only to limit repeated contributions.
Location Data: If you explicitly click "Improve City Location" and grant browser permission, your device supplies coordinates so PakSpeed can improve the city label. Before storage, coordinates are rounded to a coarse grid of roughly 11 kilometres. Public map cells are shown only after at least five tests. A coarse coordinate may be sent to our reverse-geocoding provider only to obtain the city name; exact device coordinates are not sent for that lookup. If you decline, we use approximate IP-based city information.
Feedback and Contact Messages: If you contact PakSpeed, submit feedback, or request a correction, we may receive the details you choose to send, such as your email address, city, ISP name, device type, and the page or result you are asking about. Do not send passwords, account numbers, CNIC details, payment information, or private ISP account records.
We use the data collected to:
PakSpeed does not use individual speed test records to make decisions about a person's internet account, billing, eligibility, credit, employment, insurance, or access to public services.
We use consent-gated analytics to understand site performance and improve the service. If advertising is enabled, third-party advertising companies, including Google AdSense, may use cookies (like the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites on the Internet.
Third-party vendors and ad networks may place and read cookies in your browser, use web beacons, or use IP addresses and other identifiers as part of ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, frequency capping, reporting, and personalization. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also visit AboutAds for choices offered by participating third-party advertising companies.
Analytics scripts are designed to load only after cookie consent is recorded. Browser settings, extension-level tracking protection, and consent choices may limit what analytics or advertising technology can measure.
We do not sell your personal identifying information. Telemetry data displayed publicly on our dashboard and maps never includes raw IP addresses and is presented as aggregated network metrics or user-approved location data.
PakSpeed may share aggregated findings with researchers, journalists, civil society organizations, policymakers, or the public. These summaries are meant to describe broad network patterns, not expose individual users. We may also use service providers for hosting, security, analytics, email, or content delivery when they are needed to operate the site.
No internet service can promise perfect security. PakSpeed uses practical safeguards, avoids storing raw IP addresses in the speed test database, and limits sensitive collection where possible. If we learn of a security or privacy issue that affects users, we will work to investigate and address it.
Device location is optional. Your browser will ask for permission before sharing coordinates. PakSpeed rounds them before storage and does not publish a single test as a map point. If you deny permission, the speed test still runs with approximate city-level information. You can change location permission later in your browser or device settings.
Community map points may be rounded, filtered, grouped, delayed, or otherwise adjusted to reduce privacy risk and improve data quality. Public maps and rankings should be read as community-contributed connectivity evidence, not as a guarantee of service quality at any exact address.
PakSpeed keeps speed test records for as long as they are useful for service operation, quality control, historical comparison, and public-interest connectivity research. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond, maintain records, prevent abuse, or resolve the issue described in the message.
Aggregated reports may remain available even after individual records are no longer used directly, because they describe wider trends rather than personal activity.
PakSpeed is a general internet measurement tool and is not designed to collect information from children. Users should not submit private identity documents, school records, medical details, financial information, or other sensitive personal information through the speed test or contact page.
You can choose not to run a test, decline device location permission, clear browser cookies, use browser privacy controls, or contact PakSpeed with a privacy question. If you ask about a specific test result, include the approximate test time, city, provider, and device context so the team can investigate without needing private account details.
PakSpeed may not be able to identify a single test record from limited information, especially because raw IP addresses are not stored in the speed test database. We will still review reasonable privacy, correction, and security requests in good faith.
