PakSpeed was developed by the creative engineers at WANG (Welfare Association for New Generation) and Urdu AI with a singular vision: to bring a beautiful, lightning-fast, and fully localized internet speed testing tool to Pakistan. We realized that existing global tools lacked proper Urdu translation and failed to give Pakistani users a centralized dashboard comparing local ISPs directly against one another.
Our City Rankings and ISP Comparison pages aim to create total transparency. By combining your real-world speed test results with geographically clustered data, we empower everyday consumers to answer questions like: "Is Zong really faster than Jazz in Lahore?" or "Should I switch to StormFiber in Karachi?"
We believe in full transparency about how we measure internet speed. Here is our step-by-step process:
Tests measure the connection between your device and the Cloudflare endpoint selected by network routing. The endpoint may be inside or outside Pakistan; routing and distance affect results.
Measurement runs in a browser Web Worker to reduce interference from page updates. Device performance, Wi-Fi, other downloads, and browser limits can still affect the result.
Parallel download and upload requests estimate the throughput available to this test endpoint at that moment. This is not a guarantee of the speed every website or app will receive.
Public summaries use submitted speed tests. Participation is voluntary, and one person may run several tests. Test counts are not counts of unique people, households, or subscribers.
Every test result includes ISP identification (via IP geolocation), city detection, and connection type. We use this data exclusively for:
PakSpeed combines an Urdu and English testing interface with community internet data for Pakistan. Read individual results alongside the test conditions, sample sizes, and dates.
Community samples are self-selected, not a representative national survey. Differences in devices, plans, Wi-Fi, locations, and testing times can change city and ISP averages. A ranking describes the submitted sample, not every customer of that provider. IP-based city and ISP identification can be approximate, particularly on mobile networks and VPNs.
The Internet Pulse uses the rolling 30-day period printed on the page. Its ranked groups require at least 30 tests. Other comparison pages may use a different period; check their labels before comparing figures. The research archive preserves dated snapshots with aggregate downloads and citation details.
One slow result does not establish an outage, throttling, or a broken ISP promise. Repeat at different times, pause other traffic, and compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet where available. The connection health score is a guide derived from measured results, not an independent certification. This test does not directly measure packet loss or delay under load.
For research or reporting, cite the dated snapshot and retain its sample-size and coverage caveats. Report suspected data or methodology errors through Contact, including the page URL, date, and the figure in question.
